Preface
Preface
The phrase “purpose-driven” evokes a call to action. When we are driven by a purpose and emotionally connected to the work we are doing, we are inspired to work towards a goal that is bigger than ourselves. We are motivated to help others reach their goals and achieve success. The Purpose-Driven School Workbook was created to help educational leaders take action steps to create quality schools and impact students, their families, and the world. Educational leaders who are purpose-driven and committed to quality education for all students, work for a goal that is bigger than themselves. This commitment requires leaders to intentionally implement best practices that result in that desired end. Our leaders have an obligation to address all that goes into providing students with a quality education. The more educators that become deliberate in their practice, the greater the influence they will have on the educational community. And the more schools that are effective, the greater the impact education will have on society. The process of building great schools and strengthening education as a whole is a collective effort.
This workbook is a companion to support the principles outlined in The Purpose-Driven School, a book that provides educational leaders and stakeholders with the tools and practices needed to create great schools. As such, The Purpose-Driven School Workbook was designed to guide educational leaders on their quest to educate students with excellence and to create vitality in schools. School vitality should be the ultimate goal for educators, parents, politicians, and the community. We cannot lose sight of the impact that education has on the economy, society, and humanity. Implementing the action steps outlined in this workbook will set school leaders on the path to establish great schools for all. The work that needs to be done must start with knowledge and transition into the implementation of practical practices that strengthen the school community and improve the service provided. Ultimately, the work that goes into shaping greats schools begins with love for children and a commitment to support a movement towards a humanitarian society.
