Purpose Driven

Purpose Driven

By Shawn Brown

Why are you here on earth? You are not here to just take up air and to exist. Believe it or not, you are here for a PURPOSE. Purpose is why you were put on earth. Purpose can be found in what you are passionate about and or to express your gifts. Life becomes meaningful when you find your purpose. Einstein said, “The two most important days in your life are the day you were born and the day you find out why.”

Discovering your purpose is imperative to living a fulfilling life. A good start to finding your purpose is to identify your passion. When passion meets destiny, that dynamic becomes purpose, and creativity is ignited. Moving in your purpose is a higher level of being. It sets you apart from the masses. The majority of people on earth do not identify their purpose and have settled among the status quo. It is so important that you step out of your comfort zone so that you can live in your divine purpose and share your gifts with the world.

Calling is purpose with a divine touch” John Maxwell

Steps to Finding Your Purpose

  • Become Self-Aware: be self-reflective. Be an observer of your own experience.
  • Identify your gift(s): What are you naturally good or great at doing?
  • Identify your strengths and talents: In what areas do you excel? What skills have you developed?
  • Ignite your creativity: Begin to outwardly express what’s on your heart
  • Identify your passion: Passion can be discovered through service. Volunteer with a variety of organizations that support various causes.
  • Identify work that you would do even if you didn’t get paid.
  • Identify what you would do with your time if money wasn’t an issue.
  • Identify what world problem you want to solve.
  • Identify what you are doing when you lose track of time.
  • Identify a cause you would fight for at any cost.
  • Identify what makes you come alive.
  • Identify a social issue that you feel needs to be solved.
  • Identify something that you would like to do that seems impossible.
  • Identify what you would invent to solve a problem.
  • Understand that purpose is not about what you will receive. It's about what you give and how you contribute to others and the world.

Finding your purpose can be difficult, but living your purpose can be even more challenging. It sometimes requires you to step out of your comfort zone, disrupting your current thinking. You have been given talents and gifts. It is up to you to develop the confidence, harness the desire, and take the action needed to live life in your purpose. Life is to be lived. Be PURPOSE DRIVEN!!!
